EUTB®

"Welcome at the CIL Mainz independent supplementary participation counseling (EUTB®). We offer individual counseling for you and your family members concerning possible services for your social participation. Our counseling is free of charge, independent and in addition to other counseling offers. Counseling with us is done by persons with disabilities for persons with disabilities, following the peer counseling approach."

Who are we?

The EUTB® at the CIL Mainz offers free of charge counseling. We are responsible for the city of Mainz and the rural district Mainz-Bingen. We use the principle of peer counseling for our work, which means that the counseling is done at eye level, from one affected person to another, adjusted to your individual, personal needs. This counseling method is especially effective in situations where dealing with one’s disability is discussed.

What do we do?

We offer counseling on all topics that come up when living with a disability. We are happy to inform you about your possibilities related to living with a disability or chronic disease. If necessary, we also offer help leading up to the application to specific benefits. Our counseling always focusses on your strengths and encourages you to make autonomous decisions for yourself.

Possible counseling questions

We offer (among others) counseling on the following topics:

  • How can I apply to a “Schwerbehindertenausweis” (Disability Identification Card)?
  • Can and should I categorize participation benefits as personal budget?
  • Who bears the cost of a sign language interpreter?
  • With which work life participation benefits can I keep my current job?
  • Which benefits exist to facilitate vocational training for young people?
  • I would like to study. Which benefits exist for during my studies?
  • How do I manage to live self-determinedly in my own apartment?
  • What are the possibilities to change from a sheltered workshop to the primary labor market and is that a sensible solution for me?
  • In my case, which funder is responsible for which benefits and how do I receive them?

What is special about EUTB®?

Our EUTB® counseling is:
